DIY: Monster Autogordel Knuffel ~ ♥ ~ Seatbelt Monster (Plush Toy)

In de reclame op de televisie zagen de kinderen van die "knuffelbeest-kussen-dingen" voor in de auto voorbij komen..

'Mam ik wil er ook zo een!'  Natuurlijk, de reclame op de televisie doet zijn werk wel ;-)  Toch vond deze Mam het niet nodig om om € 20,- voor zoiets uit te geven... zeker niet met een kast vol stofjes!

Zelf aan de slag dus!

In advertising on television the children saw of those 'stuffed animal pillow things'  for in the car, passing by .. "Mom, I want one too!" Of course, the advertising on television does work ;-) However, this Mom thought it was not necessary to spend € 20, - for such a thing, certainly not with a closet full of fabrics! 

Time to do it myself!

 

Samen met zoonlief heb ik eerst een soort monster op papier getekend en deze daarna op de stof vast gespeld en overgetrokken. Doordat de stof wat groter was dan verwacht kon ik het monster iets groter maken, de ontbrekende lijntjes heb ik er gewoon bij getekend.

Na het overtrekken, heb ik de patroondelen weg gehaald en het monster langs de randen vast gespeld voor ik hem ging uitknippen.

Together with my son, I have first drawn a sort of monster on paper and then pinned to the fabric and traced. Because the fabric was larger than expected, I could make the monster  a little bit bigger, the missing lines I have just drawn on. 

After tracing, I have the pattern pieces taken away and pinned the monster along the edges before I went to cut it off.

 

Knip een rechthoekig stukje stof dat je voorziet van klittenband, zorg ervoor dat de stof dicht geplakt om de gordel past. (helaas was dit mijn laatste stukje klittenband.... voor het mooie eigenlijk te klein, over de volle lengte was mooier geweest)

Na het uitknippen van het monster,  heb ik de delen van elkaar gehaald en eerst het rechthoekige stukje stof met klittenband op de rug (aan de goede kant van de stof) van het monster vastgezet.  Dit stukje stof zorgt ervoor dat je de knuffel rondt de autogordel kunt vast zetten.

Ik heb de twee delen van het monster weer op elkaar vast gespeld en toen riep mijn zoontje dat de haren een andere kleur moesten! 

'Juist....' ik heb met een stukje bruine stof zijn haren gemaakt en dit aan de patroondelen vastgezet, waarna ik het monster helemaal in elkaar kon stikken, er aan denkend wel een gat in zijn zij open te laten om het monster te kunnen keren zodat de goede kant buiten komt!

Cut a rectangular piece of fabric where you sew velcro on, make sure the fabric fits the seatbelt when taped shut. (unfortunately this was my last piece of Velcro .... it is too small, it would have been better over the full length)

After cutting out the monster, I have the parts disassembled and the rectangular piece of fabric with Velcro sewn on the back (on the right side of the fabric) of the monster first. This piece of fabric ensures that you can attach the monster around the seat belt. When I had the two parts of the sample pinned together again, my son called that the hair had to be a different color! "Right ...." I have made with a brown fabric his hair and sewn the pattern pieces together, after that I could stitch the monster all together, keeping in mind to leave a hole in the side open to allow for turning the sample so the right side comes out!

Tijd om het monster eten te geven! Nou hij had een behoorlijke honger ;-)

Na de vulling eventjes het gat in zijn zij netjes dicht genaaid en van vilt een paar ogen, een mond en tanden op zijn gezicht geplakt!

Een lekker gek monster is het geworden, eentje waar je vrolijk van wordt als je naar hem kijkt!

Mijn zoontje is er helemaal gek van en ik heb weer wat ruimte in mijn kast met stofjes!

Time to 'feed' the monster!  Well he did have quite a appetite ;-) 

After filling up, I have neatly stitched  the hole in his side and made ​​of felt a pair of eyes, a mouth and teeth and glued it on his face!

A nice crazy monster it has become, one that makes you happy when you look at him!  

My son is really crazy about him and my closet with fabrics has become less full!
